2 Cushions, 2 Ways...

I had a fairly 'cushy' week last week!
Please don't hesitate to laugh uncontrollably at my clever puns.

Earlier in the week I made a framed pin cushion...

I've been wanting to make one of these for quite some time now & it's so easy!

I used an old frame that had sadly been dropped and the glass had cracked.  This frame worked perfectly due to the box style!  I took out the glass, cut out a rectangular piece of fabric big enough to fit the frame.  I then stuffed the inside with filling from an old pillow and put the frame back together.  See.... EASY!!!

My second cushion is my retry at the Sprocket Pillow.  Remember how last time I tried it I got the maths way wrong and it turned into this?

Well.... this time I followed the instructions a bit better (I still ad-libbed a teeny bit... I can't help myself!!! LOL) and this is what came out of it...

I used two old thrifted pillow cases for this project.  One a lovely grey cotton and the other a pretty floral flannelette pillowcase that belong to my Nanna.

I didn't have one of those fabric covered buttons to use.. and couldn't be bothered waiting until my next Spotlight adventure), so instead I made a fabric flower to attach instead.

I think it's cute!
My Man the Muso thinks it's comfy!!!
...but he wouldn't let me upload the pic of him indulging in a midday snooze on it!

What have you been whipping up this week?
I'd love to hear about it!

I'll be linking up at our creative spaces and all the fantastic linky parties listed here or you can click on my linky party tab at the top of the page.

  2. Looks fabulous, Cass!!! I prefer the fabric flower to a fabric covered button. It finishes it off nicely.

  8. I really like your version of the Sprocket Pillow. I've made one to, but I used different fabric for all the panels.
